INTERVIEW WITH MOEAIKE

As dancefloors continue to reconnect and evolve, certain tracks begin their life long before an official release — traveling from city to city, whispered as IDs and carried by collective memory. “Lift Me High” is one of those records. Tested, refined and embraced across continents, it already lived many lives before finally landing in full form.

Behind the track stands Moeaike, a project built on patience, movement and trust in the dancefloor. Since 2019, the duo have developed a sound that feels both powerful and intimate, shaped as much by global touring as by hours spent in the studio. Their journey reflects a constant dialogue between crowd energy, emotional depth and the simple instinct to make people move.

In this interview with Eternal Groove, Moeaike talk about the long road behind “Lift Me High,” how international crowds shape their creative decisions, and what it takes to stay grounded while momentum continues to build, both on stage and beyond it.

Hi guys, welcome to Eternal Groove! How has the new year started for you?
The year has started in a very intense but positive way. We’ve been traveling a lot and working on new music, so everything already feels in full motion. We’re really excited about what the next months will bring.

Huge congratulations on the release of your new single “Lift Me High” on Unreleased. How does it feel to finally share this track after so much hype and anticipation?
It feels great, honestly. We’ve been playing the track in our sets for quite a long time, so many people were already waiting for it. The strong support from Keinemusik over the past months really helped the track grow and travel even before the official release. Releasing it now feels like closing a circle and finally letting everyone enjoy it properly.

You’ve been building the Moeaike project since 2019. What has changed most in your sound since the early days?
We’ve definitely become more confident in our identity. In the beginning we experimented a lot, while now we better understand what truly represents us and what works both emotionally and on the dancefloor.

“Lift Me High” has circulated as an ID for a while. When did you realise it had become the huge record it is today?
Probably when we started playing it in different countries and saw the same reaction everywhere. When a track works with completely different crowds, you realize it has something special.

Your music balances groove and emotion. How do you approach that balance in the studio?
We usually start from the groove, because the dancefloor is always the foundation. Then we add emotional elements until the track feels powerful but still intimate.

Touring internationally can reshape how music is received. How have different crowds influenced the way you DJ or produce?
Traveling and playing in different places shows you how music connects people in unique ways. Every crowd leaves something with you, a different energy, a different way of living the night and feeling the music. All those emotions naturally come back with us into the studio and influence what we create. In a way, every journey and every dancefloor becomes part of our tracks.

Are there any artists or scenes outside of house music that inspire your work?
Absolutely. We listen to many genres, from world music to atmospheric and electronic sounds. Inspiration often comes from outside the club scene.

When building a DJ set, what tells you it’s time to shift the energy?
The crowd tells you. You can feel when people need more energy or, sometimes, a deeper moment. Reading the room is everything.

To close, what keeps you grounded when things start moving quickly in your career?
Our personal life and the people close to us. Remembering why we started making music in the first place always keeps us focused.
